Loan Calculator
Plan a loan: work out monthly payment or, in reverse, the loan amount you can afford.
Loan Calculator
FinancePlan a loan two ways: calculate the monthly payment for a loan amount, or work out how much you can borrow based on the payment you can afford.

How it works
Both modes use the standard reducing-balance formula. In payment mode the loan amount is known and the monthly payment is derived. In amount mode the equation is rearranged to solve for the maximum loan amount your monthly payment supports.
Formula
Monthly payment = P × r × (1 + r)n ÷ ((1 + r)n − 1)
For reverse mode: P = payment × ((1 + r)n − 1) ÷ (r × (1 + r)n)
Example calculation
Two worked examples at 10% per year over 10 years (120 months):
- Loan of ৳1,000,000 → monthly payment ≈ ৳13,215
- Affordable payment of ৳15,000 / month → loan amount ≈ ৳1,135,067
Important notes
- Actual approved loan amounts depend on income, credit score and bank policy.
- Rates can be fixed or floating; this tool assumes a fixed rate for the whole term.
- A zero interest rate is supported (payment = loan ÷ months).
Once you have the payment, see the EMI Calculator for the full monthly schedule and total interest.
Frequently Asked Questions
The EMI calculator works out a monthly payment from a loan amount. This loan calculator can also work in reverse: enter the monthly payment you can afford and it estimates the maximum loan amount.
The loan amount is solved from the affordable monthly payment using the same reducing-balance formula rearranged. At a given rate and term, a higher payment means a larger loan is affordable.
Most banks in Bangladesh use a similar monthly reducing-balance method, but actual approved amounts also depend on your income, credit history and the bank’s lending policy. Use the result as a planning figure.
